If mirrors feel cruel, try this:

  • Change the script. Instead of “I look awful,” ask, “What part of me can I appreciate today?”

  • Use movement. Dance, walk, stretch — it reminds you your body is alive, not just an image.

  • Cover the mirror. Sometimes self-kindness is giving yourself a break.
